1. Do you offer design services?
Not every bathroom remodeler or general contractor has an on-staff design team like we do at Booher Remodeling. You can hire a designer and contractor separately, but it’s usually more efficient and cost-effective to hire a company that does everything in house.
2. Can you give me a timeline?
We know quite well that remodeling is never cut and dry, and issues almost always pop up in the process, messing with the schedule. However, if the contractor doesn’t give you an idea of a start and completion date (even if it’s an estimate), then proceed with caution.
3. Do you subcontract any of the work?
Many remodelers subcontract certain parts of the job to a third party who specializes in that particular improvement. For example, it isn’t uncommon for plumbing or electrical to be subcontracted out. You don’t need to be worried about subcontracted work, as long as the bathroom remodeler is upfront about it and uses licensed professionals.
4. What type of materials do you use?
Make sure the bathroom remodeler is clear about the materials he plans to use. A written estimate may look great in terms of numbers, but you don’t want them to sacrifice quality for cost. You’ll only end up paying for it in the long run.
5. May I see examples of your past work?
