3 Quick and Easy Kitchen Updates Before Christmas

The holidays are here and after a long, hard year, we are ready to celebrate! However, for many Indiana residents, the holidays may look a little bit different this year. Maybe you’ve decided not to travel out of state to see loved ones. Or, as an added precaution, maybe you’re choosing to gather with a smaller group of people. If changing plans means that you now are in charge of hosting Christmas but your kitchen isn’t looking it’s best, fear not! Our team at Booher Remodeling Company has three quick and easy kitchen updates to have it ready for Christmas Day!

1. Replace Your Faucet

The sink area is one of the most hardworking kitchen spaces, but replacing the whole sink may not be in your time or money budget. Instead, try just replacing the faucet. Because of its constant use, an updated faucet can provide an immediately noticeable kitchen improvement while also adding style and enhancing the overall design of your space.

2. Add Storage

No matter how large of a Christmas dinner you’re planning on making, you’re going to need all the counter space you can get. Why not take this opportunity to add floating shelves or hanging storage to your kitchen? Not only do floating shelves provide easy-access open storage, but they also create display space for cookbooks and decorative kitchen items. Or, try brass push plates with knobs to provide accessible under-cabinet storage for your most-used utensils.

3. Add an Accent Wall

If space isn’t your issue but style is, consider adding an accent wall that will look great in the background of those holiday pictures. Shiplap is still a popular choice and can be easily installed in a weekend. Simply measure your area, cut planks to length, and install using a spacer to create a small gap between each piece of wood. The final result will add texture and a modern farmhouse style to your kitchen.
