3 Tips for Designing a Welcoming Guest Bath

For many homeowners, the master bath is the one that gets the most remodeling attention. However, at Booher Remodeling Company of Indianapolis, we believe that the guest bathroom deserves just as much consideration if you want your home to be welcoming. A well-thought-out guest bathroom can be a gift to your friends and family, who will appreciate the added touches to make them feel at home. Today, we’ve put together a list of tips to help inspire your guest bathroom redesign.

1. Keep the Design Neutral

It is your house and, ultimately, your personal style is the one that counts. However, if you want to make your guest bathroom welcoming, it’s a good idea to keep the design fairly neutral. We recommend incorporating a monochromatic color scheme that will add a sense of classic elegance to the space and that won’t quickly go out of style.

2. Make It Luxurious

The goal of a welcoming guest bathroom is to make your home a comfortable place to stay. Take the time to add plenty of fresh, fluffy towels, plush robes, and even a variety of high-end soaps or lotions for a spa-like experience. Of course, we also recommend supplying practical items like extra toothbrushes or razors; however, the luxe items will transform a stay at your home into something special.

3. Avoid Clutter

Finally, remember that your guests will likely be bringing several of their own personal toiletry items, so part of making them comfortable is leaving space for those items. Resist the urge to overcrowd your design with decorations and knickknacks that will only be in the way of your guests’ essentials. Instead, leave more than enough open counter space for them to work with. If you have a smaller guest bathroom, add vertical shelves to provide extra surface space.

At Booher, we know it can be overwhelming to try and come up with your own design plans, so we’re here to take the guesswork out of it. We will help you create a guest bathroom that will appeal to everyone from your best friend to your mother-in-law.
