Modern Farmhouse KitchenWho says you have to live on a farm to enjoy the cozy comfort of a farmhouse kitchen? Not us! At Booher Remodeling Company, we want to help our customers get the kitchen of their dreams. In case you’re a farmer at heart, check out these great ideas for remodeling your space into the perfect farmhouse kitchen.

1. Rustic Wood Decor

Whether you opt for rustic wood beams or shelving, be sure to include some worn or reclaimed wood into your decor. If you can score some actual barn wood or even a barn door, then that will do even more for making your kitchen look and feel authentic.

2. White Cabinets

You don’t have to browse through farmhouse kitchen photo galleries for long to see a trend: white cabinets. While the hardware or the style of the cabinets might have variation from home to home, you won’t see many farmhouse kitchens that don’t include white cabinetry.

3. Statement Lighting

One thing we noticed about the farmhouse kitchen is that you can usually find a unique light fixture or two over the island or eating area. Lights vary in style, from clear glass with exposed light bulbs to rusted metal pendants. You can decide how rustic you want to get, but just make sure it says “farmhouse” and stands out.

4. Light Colors

You cannot have too much white in a farmhouse kitchen. Many people do everything white, minus the floor and perhaps a few accents of wood. Even the tile backsplash tends to be a white subway tile. So if you’re looking to stay on trend, choose white. Or, if you have to have a little color, choose a very light gray or tan color.

5. Stainless Steel Appliances

In most farmhouse kitchens, designers tend to choose stainless steel appliances. They look great with all that white and add a touch of the industrial that you’d likely find down on the farm.
