Top 5 Master Bathroom Must-Haves

When remodeling a bathroom, you may be wondering what’s essential and what might be considered an “extra.” We love a little luxury as much as the next person, especially in a space designed to help you unwind. But not every budget can afford the upgrades. So at Booher Remodeling Company, our design team encourages you to consider these five bathroom features as a starting point.

1. Walk-in shower

While you can always add a bathtub, it’s hard to have a functional bathroom without a shower. We recommend that you go with a custom walk-in shower that will fit your space perfectly and look great for years to come.

2. Dual vanity

A dual vanity is essential to give you plenty of space for storage and for getting ready. It’s not only a matter of function; if you plan on selling your home at some point, most buyers prefer a dual vanity in the master bath.

3. Tile flooring

You have a number of flooring options, but we think tile is one of the best choices for a master bathroom. Tile is durable, handles water well, and can even include radiant floor heating for those cold Indiana winter days.

4. Storage

Make sure you plan appropriately for storing your bathroom essentials. Most of the time, the vanity alone doesn’t do the trick. So you may want to consider additional closet space, cabinetry, or other storage options that our design team can help you explore.

5. Natural lighting

You cannot beat natural light. From the serenity it provides to aiding in makeup application, you just cannot fake natural light. So we recommend that you do everything you can to increase the natural light in your master bath. If your master bath is completely buried in the interior of your home, then choose lighting that best mimics natural light. If you need help deciding on any of these bathroom features, our design team here at Booher Remodeling Company would be glad to assist. Contact us anytime at (317) 852-5546 to set up a consultation. We serve homeowners in and around Fishers, Carmel, and Indianapolis, IN.
